Lumia 925-Specifications and short review

In a event which lacked a lot of fanfare-Nokia revealed two new Lumia devices-Lumia 925 and Luma 928. Lumia 928 is available as of now only on  verizon's CDMA network, GSM users can meanwhile get there hands on Lumia 925. Make no mistake though, its quite a brilliant device. Lumia 925 offers  remium build-quality, improved display over a few months old Lumia 920 and some exclusive goodies that Lumia devices get blessed with. Read on to know more.

Looks and AppearanceAs soon as you give Lumia 925 a look the changes in its design compared to its predecessors is obvious. Take the phone in your hand and you would be happily surprised, its aluminium instead of the Poly-carbonate unibody you were used to seeing on Lumia devices. Even with the metal construction, the device is light and yet sturdy to hold. At just 139  rams, its way to lighter than Lumia 920 (185 grams). A thickness profile of 8.5mm will hardly have anyone complaining either.

Camera and Hardware: The back of the device hosts the
8.7-megapixel OIS camera with f/2.0 6-element lens and dual-LED flash which promises a brilliant image capturing ability. It is also capable of recording 1080p HD videos. A small Nokia logo and speaker grill at the bottom are also present at the back. At the front is 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ display which has received a major  pgrade over the predecessors- in place of LCD IPS is OLED panel which is over-laid with Corning GORILLA GLASS 2 protection.  Though, in terms of resolution and ppi everything is still the same- 1,280 x 768 (720p) with 334 ppi. A 1.2 MP shooter which would be more often than used for video calls and self-portraits is also present at the top.

The device is powered by a
Dual-core 1.5GHz MSM8960 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM which are quite sufficient for the functioning of light and stable Windows Phone 8 OS. NFC is also present of the device and with an optional Snap-on cover, the device can also support wireless charging. A 2000 mAh battery what you'll find on the device, though how it performs with OLED display on-board remains to be seen.

The device might carry a price tag of around $600 (unlocked) when it hits the store. T-mobile is one of the carriers in US who has promised the device on contract with others expected to follow soon.
