Motorola announces Atrix HD

Motorola has now officially announced the next member of its popular Atrix series, called Atrix HD.

This announcement comes after company accidentally published a Splash page revealing several details about the specifications of Atrix HD. Motorola has said that the phone would be available soon at AT&T for $99 with a new 2-year contract.


Atrix HD runs on Android 4.0 ICS. It has a dual-core 1.5 Ghz processor, a 4.5-inch 720p display. Atrix HD is 8.5mm thick and has a Kevlar fiber back plate similar to Droid Razr. The display of Atrix HD is made of corning GORILLA glass. The phone would also sport two cameras- a rear 8MP camera with ability to record 1080p full HD videos and a 720p fron camera for video calling and taking self portraits.

Atrix HD would also be pre-loaded with 'smartactions', an app that will offer suggestions on how to improve the battery life of the phone. The app can also be used to adjust various phone settings to maximize phone's power.

A feature called Drive Smart can be used for turn-by-turn directions, to read your text messages aloud and to auto-reply to incoming callers letting them know you’re driving.

Atrix HD is the third entrant in Motorola's Atrix series, with Motorola Atrix being the first phone in the line-up.



The phone would also be available in Canada for Customers of BELL although the pricing for Canadian consumers are yet to be announced.
