Google warned Samsung about galaxy tab designs

The legal battle between Samsung and Apple got heated yet again. According to All thingsD, Apple reportedly showed some internal documents of Samsung and some of these documents allegedly stated that Google was concerned about how similar the prototypes Galaxy Tablets looked to the iPad.


"The search giant powers the Android operating system on both Samsung devices and apparently demanded both tablets have a “distinguishable design vis-à-vis the iPad for the [Galaxy Tab 10.1 prototype]."

The documents also show how the design group of Samsung 'regretted' the similarity in designs between Galaxy S smartphone and a few previous models of iPhones.

This week has seen a few other Apple-Samsung legal actions. A court in dusseldorf, Germany banned the sales of Galaxy tab 7.7 across the Europe earlier in the week. The court did however decide against a similar ban for the 10.1N Galaxy Tab — a revised version of the original 10.1 Galaxy Tab.

Until today, the legal War between Apple and Samsung has extended to 6 different countries (yes, half a dozen!) and has resulted in ban of Samsung Tablets across Australia, UK and Europe. Apple has also received a set-back when a UK judge ordered Apple to advertize on its website that the Galaxy tab had not copied its designs.

Apple is reportedly suing Samsung for $2.5 billion (whoa!) lost in profits.
